Nationally appointed judging panels will judge two or three categories throughout the country to ensure consistency nationwide.

The panels are made up of two judges – a building specialist and a design specialist. They will visit each entry between April and August 2010.

All entries will be assessed using a predetermined scorecard. Judges score against industry standards in the judging categories. Judges decisions are reviewed by the Management Committee – these decisions are final.

The awards are given out at local events from June to August and the Gold Award winners which are in the Top 100 in New Zealand will proceed to the national competition.

All National Gold Reserve entries are re-judged by a new national judging panel.  They will allocate the national category winners and the 2010 PlaceMakers Supreme Award – the House of the Year, and the new PlaceMakers Supreme Award – Renovation of the Year.   All National Winners are announced at the National Gala event held in November 2010.

– awards like this are an investment in our company’s future."
